The loan amount showing is different from what I expected
If the loan amount showing is different from the amount you requested, it is because the system has checked your loan eligibility based on your income and existing financial obligations. Below are instances that lead to different loan amount showing;
Why is my loan amount reduced?
One of the factors considered is your debt-to-income ratio. If you have a pending loan repayment that is already up to 40% of your salary, the amount you can borrow may be reduced.Your eligibility may also be affected by:
- Existing loans: Outstanding loans, whether on Seamless or another financial institution, can affect your eligibility.
- Income: Your current earnings are considered when determining how much you can afford to repay.
- Existing financial obligations: Your current repayment commitments are considered as part of the eligibility assessment.
What can I do if my loan offer is lower than expected?
If you have an outstanding loan, you can:
- Apply for a lower amount that falls within your current eligibility.
- Liquidate your pending loan and then try applying again.
Once your outstanding loan is cleared, your eligibility may improve and you may be offered a higher amount, depending on the eligibility assessment.
What if I don't have any outstanding loans?
If you have no outstanding loans and the system still offers an amount lower than what you requested, the amount displayed is the maximum loan amount you are currently eligible to receive based on the system's assessment.

Please note: The amount you request is not necessarily the amount you will be offered. Your final loan offer is determined by the eligibility assessment at the time of application.
