The release note for this month is on the system control permissions and the varying access admins have on it. The Systems Control Permissions feature allows organizations to manage what each admin can do within modules on the system.
The Systems Control Permissions feature empowers organizations to define the capabilities of each admin within the Leave Management module.
Depending on their roles, admins can be granted varying levels of access to specific features, including options for viewing, editing, or managing settings.
Previously, the permissions system did not function as intended. For instance, an admin assigned view-only access to features such as Leave Requests still had the ability to edit, delete, or create records. This situation resulted in:
- Confusion around what each permission level really meant
- Unintended changes made by admins who were only meant to view
- Difficulty in assigning clear responsibilities within HR or Admin teams
What’s New?
With this release, we’ve updated systems control permissions in the Leave Management module to ensure that:
- Whoever an admin assigns the “View” permission, they can now only view that feature. They will no longer be able to take any action—like edit, delete, or create—unless they have been explicitly granted permission to do so.
- This applies across key leave features including:
- Leave Requests (Reset, Cancel, Extend, Recall)
- Leave Policy
- Additional Leave Days
- Blocked Leave Days
- Reserved Leave Days
- Leave Settings (Accrual, Public Holidays, Document Format)
- Leave Plan
- Upload Leave History
- Leave Balance
- Resumption Settings
Please note that whoever is assigned the Edit, Delete, and Add or Manage role, the corresponding View role must also be selected.
For every feature that has to do with Leave request now, the permission is now granular. An Admin can only approve/decline a request, apply for leave on behalf of an employee, extend, cancel, reset, recall, view handover note, view proof of leave, export leave request etc if he/she has been assigned permission to do so.

2. Leave Policy
For Leave policy permissions, there are View, Edit, Add, Delete, Nudge employees and Duplicate policy permissions.

3. Additional Leave Days
For Additional leave days permissions, there are View, Edit, Add and Delete permissions.

4. Blocked Leave Days
Blocked leave days permissions, there are View, Edit, Add and Delete permissions.

5. Reserved Leave Days
Reserved leave days permissions, there are View, Edit, Add and Delete permissions

6. Leave Settings
Leave settings permissions has the view and manage permissions for menus like the Accrual settings, Resumption settings, Leave Plan settings and Document Format settings, but the public holiday menu has the view, add, edit, and delete permissions.
Please note that each of the menus must have the "view menu" permission checked for it to be visible.


7. Leave Plan History
The Leave plan History feature has the view leave plans and export leave plans permissions.

8. Leave Balance
This feature only has the view permission as that is the only action that can be performed on it.

9. Leave Allowance
Leave allowance has the manage, mark as paid, revert, and download permissions

10. Upload Leave History
This feature only has the upload leave history permission as that is the only action that can be performed on it

Please note that permissions checked determines what will display on admin view.
