A workflow can contain one or multiple approval levels and can include managers, reporting lines, administrators, or external approvers. Common workflow setup issues identified: 1. Missing approvers. 2. Incorrect approval order. 3. Approval roles not being assigned correctly. 4. Requests not being mapped to a workflow. 5. Workflow settings not being saved after creation. **How to create an approval workflow** 1. Switch to Admin View. 2. Open the Approval Workflow module from the list of installed applications. 3. Select View Approval Flows. 4. Click Create Approval Workflow. 5. Enter a workflow name and description. 6. Select the request type that will use the workflow. Examples may include leave requests, payroll requests, payment requests, or other approvals. 7. Add approval steps by selecting: - Reporting Lines - Line Managers - Countersigning Officers - HR Administrators - Finance Administrators - Other authorized roles 8. Configure optional settings: - Approval comments - Decline comments - Reminder notifications - Auto-rerouting to relief officers - Two-factor authentication 9. Click Save or Add to create the workflow. **Best Practices** Use at least two approval levels for high-value transactions. Enable approval comments for audit purposes.  Enable reminder notifications to reduce approval delays.
